Progress Reports
Dear brethren,
The mother of an addict rides an emotional roller coaster. Most of the time fear & worry drag her down. Where is he? What’s he doing? These questions weigh heavily on her heart. There are upward jolts of joy when her boy comes home and promises to do better. Then, back down she goes as her hopes are dashed when he relapses back to the drugs and drink.
Chris has been with us for 174 days. He has grown much and is now helping others. His mother now sleeps much better knowing where he is and what he is doing.
Travis came to us 108 days ago. His mother was thrilled to see pictures of his baptism! She was happy to hear of his decision to stay in the program another 90 days.
Beau has been in the program 84 days. Next week he will be preaching the Sunday evening sermon. Working on the sermon is helping him grow spiritually. Beau is completely off all the medications he was taking.
David has been with us 64 days. David recently quit smoking cigarettes. Therefore he is going through a tough time right now.
Jeremy came our way 37 days ago. After three weeks of Bible study, he was baptized into Christ! He has cut his cigarette smoking in half and will soon be nicotine-free. Knowing all this, his grandmother is very happy!
Wes entered the program last Sunday evening. He, like the others was severely addicted to many different drugs. As a typical addict, Wes broke his mother’s heart many times! He is going through a very rough time now, but his mother thanks God that he is finally in a place to receive help. The other men are helping Wes adjust to a life without drugs.
This is a very trying and very exciting time for the Project Rescue Addiction Recovery Program!
The exciting part is that we are easing the anxieties of mothers!
The trying time for us is that we had to turn a young man away who was seeking our help to overcome his addictions.
Timothy turned to us for help, but we did not have a finished room for him to reside. Due to a lack of funds, we told him he would have to wait until we were able to finish the apartment.
Today (for the first time and against our better judgment) we proceeded to buy the materials on credit. We just did what we had to do. The apartment should be completed by the end of the week. Then another mother’s mind will be placed at ease knowing her son is in a safe place of recovery!
We appreciate all who have supported us with prayers and funds. We are at a critical time right now and need help desperately. If you can help us please make your check out to City Boulevard church of Christ and note that it is for Project Rescue. Please mail it to City Boulevard church of Christ, 618 City Boulevard, Waycross, Georgia 31501.
